WEST COAST WOMEN UNITE
On January 21st, 2017 thousands of west coast women will march for dignity, human rights, and the power of women in the face of a national government that threatens to undermine these values. We feel it is important to bear witness in public space and protest. We made this bandana to represent the feminine spirit of the West in this weekend's marches.
This is a movement-building project. Proceeds from this and future print pieces will benefit a west coast women’s support organization (watch this space for details).
This bandana was created by women from the Bay Area: Anna, Anna, Julie, Claire, Rosie, Remy, Annie, Sofie, Celsa, Amy, Gaia, Heather, Audrey, Christina, Talia, Manuela, Lily, and Jessie. It was printed by Chris who generously donated his print shop and expertise.
We support the Women’s March Platform: We believe that Women’s Rights are Human Rights and Human Rights are Women’s Rights. We must create a society in which women - including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women - are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments.
